Locally-Grown in Chelan, Douglas, or Grant Counties

All fruit and vegetables are guaranteed to have been grown in the Chelan, Douglas, and Grant three-county area. Our farmers undergo a Farm Inspection before they’re permitted to vend in any of the Wenatchee Valley Farmers Markets, ensuring that you’re truly supporting local farmers.

Shopping at a Farmers Market Benefits You and the Community

When you shop at a Farmers Market you support:

  • A healthy lifestyle for you and your family
  • A strong rural community
  • Farmers making productive use of our land and water
  • The preservation of agricultural land and knowledge for future generations
  • The security of our local food source

Shopping locally in your farmers market brings you directly in touch with the people and land of Washington State.

When you purchase food from the grower, it’s easy to ask questions about their growing methods, food storage, and favorite recipes. Our farmers are proud of the food they deliver to market, and enthusiastically share their love of growing with customers.

Shopping at your local farmers market also gives you the opportunity to be part of your community as you visit with friends and neighbors.

Enjoy the taste and quality of the food you purchase, with the knowledge you’re helping keep area farmers on their land producing food.

Shopping Tips

  1. A farmers market lacks the sophistication of a grocery or convenience store, such as artificial lighting, misting machines, and tropical fruits pretending to be January staples! You should plan a trip to your local farmers market differently than a trip to the store. Obtain cash beforehand, arrive early for the best selection, and go “green” by bringing recyclable shopping bags.
  2. Don’t hesitate to ask farmers questions about their produce. They planted it and harvested it. Ask about their growing methods and possibly, “What can I do with that weird-looking veggie over there!”
  3. Think ahead. Ask which fruit or vegetables are best suited to preserving, canning, dehydrating, or freezing.
  4. Open your mind (and your mouth) to new food experiences. A certain vegetable may be unfamiliar to you, but go on, try it!
  5. Rest assured that over 90% of the Wenatchee Valley Farmers Market’s produce comes from the Chelan, Douglas, and Grant three-county area. Some produce not locally available may be sourced from other parts of Washington or neighboring states (such as Morel mushrooms from Montana).
