ANNUAL “SALSA CONTEST”

 Prizes include:

GRAND CHAMPION – $50 Cash from WVFM & 1 day pass for 2 to OHME GARDENS

1st prize for each Tomato base and Non-Tomato base salsas – Beautiful Farmers Market Basket full of market goodies!

All entries are subject to the General Rules of Wenatchee Valley Farmers Market.

A recipe must accompany the entry, with name, address, phone number, and name of the recipe with complete instructions. The recipe may be used in future Farmers Market Cookbooks.

Entries must be in a container with a secure lid. Entries not in a thermal container must be on ice.

Salsa should be fresh, not canned to ensure food safety practices. Please label as hot/medium/mild.

Chips may accompany each entry, but are not required. Chips will be furnished to the judges. Participants are encouraged to have fun with their decorations/presentations of the salsa!

Salsa will be judged on taste and appearance of food. No judging will be on the display.

Judges decisions are final.

Salsa categories include:

Tomato based salsa

Non-tomato based salsa (fruit or vegetable)

We encourage you to get your entry forms in early (email, mail, drop off)

All participants should bring their salsa to our “Market Table” between 9:30am-10am on Saturday, August 20. Late entries cannot be accepted.

Judging will start at 10:30am and winners will be announced at 11:15am. You must be present to win and to receive your prize. A photograph of the winners will be taken.
